Garrett Richards Gets $3.2M From Angels

A person with knowledge of the contract has told The Associated Press that the Angels have reached a $3.2 million deal for the upcoming season with right-hander Garrett Richards.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity Saturday because the announcement hadn't been made.

Brewers Agree To $3M Deal With Neal Cotts

The Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to terms on a one-year, $3 million deal with Neal Cotts.

Cotts, 34, was 2-9 with a 4.32 ERA and two saves in a career-high 73 relief appearances for the Texas Rangers last season, a year after going 8-3 with a 1.11 ERA in 58 games.

White Sox Bring Beckham Back On $2M Deal

The Chicago White Sox have signed Gordon Beckham to a one-year, $2 million deal.

Chicago traded Beckham to the Los Angeles Angels in August, but decided to bring the infielder back.

Beckham has the ability to play second, third or shortstop.

Braves Sign Cuban Outfielder Toscano

The Atlanta Braves have signed Cuban outfielder Dian Toscano to a four-year, $6 million contract.

The 25-year-old batted .356 during the 2012-13 season for Villa Clara in Cuba.

Toscano's contract includes a $1.2 million signing bonus payable 72 hours after he reports to major league spring training and salaries of $800,000 this year, $1 million in 2016, $1.3 million in 2017 and $1.5 million in 2018.

Royals Agree To $1.225M Deal With Dyson

Jarrod Dyson has avoided arbitration with the Kansas City Royals by agreeing to a one-year, $1.225 million contract for 2015.

Dyson is expected to be Kansas City's fourth outfielder. He can also make $25,000 for reaching 350 plate appearances and $50,000 if he's chosen for the All-Star Game, according to a report.

He earned $530,000 last season, $30,000 over the major league minimum.

Bud Norris, Orioles Agree To $8.8M Deal

The Baltimore Orioles have avoided arbitration with Bud Norris, agreeing to a one-year, $8.8 million deal.

Norris would get a $25,000 bonus for 180 innings and $50,000 more for 200 under Monday's agreement.

He also would earn $50,000 each for making the All-Star Game or winning a Gold Glove.

Norris, who turns 30 on March 2, was 15-8 with a 3.65 ERA in 28 starts last season, when he made $5.3 million.

Reds Sign Mesoraco To Four-Year Extension

The Cincinnati Reds have signed Devin Mesoraco to a four-year extension worth $28 million, according to a source.

The deal, which avoids arbitration, includes incentives and covers his final three arbitration-eligible seasons and one season of free agency.

"This is another example of rewarding a player we drafted and developed," Walt Jocketty said. "We are pleased to be able to sign him for the next four years and expect him to be an integral part of the team."

Alburquerque, Tigers Agree On One-Year Deal

Relief pitcher Al Alburquerque and the Tigers have reached agreement on a one-year contract, according to an ESPN.com report.

The Tigers announced the deal Sunday. The right-hander was the last Tigers player left in salary arbitration.

The 28-year-old Alburquerque was 3-1 with a 2.51 ERA in 72 games last year for the Tigers.

Max Scherzer has agreed to a seven-year contract with the Washington Nationals, according to reports.

Scherzer, 30, has career 91-50 record with a 3.58 ERA in seven seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Detroit Tigers. 

The right-hander turned down an offer from Detroit last March that would have paid him $144 million from 2015-20.
